From upload to audit-ready in minutes.

Most remediation products make you choose between a black-box service and a desktop tool with a learning curve. a11yfy is neither: a pipeline that analyzes, repairs, validates and documents your PDF — and shows its work.

Step 1 — Analysis (free)

Upload any PDF. We detect whether it's born-digital or scanned, whether it already has a structure tree, its language, and every machine-checkable accessibility failure. You get a diagnosis and an exact credit quote. No credits are spent on analysis.

Step 2 — The right repair, not the maximal one

  • Technical repair (1 credit/page). If your document's content is sound and only the accessibility structure is broken, we repair it in place: tags, reading order, heading hierarchy, table and list semantics, metadata, language. The original content stream — your text, your layout — is preserved untouched.
  • Full reconstruction (3 credits/page). Scanned documents and files without usable structure are rebuilt: OCR where needed, full layout recognition, a new tagged document with an invisible, screen-reader-accurate text layer over the original image.
  • Already compliant (0 credits). If analysis finds nothing to fix, you pay nothing.

We quote the cheaper path whenever the document allows it. You always see which one — and why — before confirming.

Either way, the PDF you download looks exactly like the one you uploaded. Remediation changes the invisible structure — tags, reading order, metadata — never the visible design.

Step 3 — Alt text and language, done properly

Images get AI-drafted alternative text in the document's language; decorative graphics are marked as artifacts so screen readers skip them instead of stuttering through page ornaments. Document language is auto-detected, so pronunciation is right in every screen reader.

Step 4 — Validation you can forward to an auditor

Every output is validated with veraPDF against PDF/UA-1's machine-checkable requirements and summarized in an issue-level report mapped to the standard's checkpoints (the Matterhorn protocol). Where human judgment is genuinely required, the report says so — with the exact location in the document.

Step 5 — Delivery, your way

Download in the browser, share a link with your team, or automate the whole flow with the REST API or the WordPress plugin. Inputs are deleted after 7 days, outputs after 30.
